PB Jenny

hey there friends and thank you so much for visiting my page =) In a few short words I am a 19 year old English major at Sacred Heart University with a passion for family, love, creativity, yoga, and i kind of like peanut butter too ;). Sure, those are just a few tidbits about me but what is the story of the girl behind the jar?

dinner time

I hate this picture, I really do.

The lighting is horendous and the plating leaves much to be desired.

I considered refraining from posting about this meal but I just couldn’t help myself. It was too damn good.

I followed this recipe for chicken sauteed with apples (with the addition of mushrooms because fungus makes me happy!), alondside some steamed asapragus, spinach, and warm doughy bread with hummus.

It was the definition of comfort food

I know most of the bloggers are ecstatic about the daylight savings time shift and opportunity to photography their dinners a la natural sunlight, but I’m a bit of a night owl when it comes to supper time. Growing up, my mom always served dinner promptly at 7:30 (so we could eat while watching Wheel of Fortune together. After all, there’s nothing like bonding over vowels and consonants) and I’ve just grown to be so accustomed to eating at this time. I suppose I could bump my meal up a half an hour or so, but let’s be honest – Jeopardy isn’t nearly as entertaining as the wheel.

Did you eat  family dinners growing up? Did you eat at specific time? Did you and your family members have “assigned seating” at the table? When my siblings and I were really young we used to always fight over the seat between my mom and dad and somehow once our seats were “established”, I was the lucky one to snag it! There was middle children syndrome up in my casa.

As much as I hate the picture of last night’s dinner, I think I hate this one even more.

My heart is broken.

Off to try and make it the best Monday I can, despite the lackluster weather and the fact that it’s, well, Monday.

Keep smiling, folks! :)
