My lovely friend Devenee over at About Time sent me a completely unexpected surprise package of goodies. EEEEEEEEEP!!! Naturally, I had to pay homage to her this morning and incorporate some of my favorite protein in to breakfast

Do we like my new bowl?

I hope so. It almost cost me a [car] and leg…

…okay, I suppose that necessitates an explanation.

Yesterday afternoon Gingie forced me to go to TJmaxx and pick out new dishes (wink wink, nudge nudge). Naturally, being the meticulous consumer that I am, I felt inclined to examine each piece of dishware carefully, checking for the price, cracks or scratches, and envisioning how I might use them in a meal. Fun date for Gingie, huh?

Somewhere between the bowls and the mugs I must have put my keys down and a solid 10 minutes later, realized I wasn’t carrying them anymore. I went back to the dish aisle and they were nowhere to be found.

Panic.

Fortunately, I drive a 1996 beat up Toyota Corolla so I wasn’t too concerned that someone stole my car. I was more concerned with, like, getting home – especially because I’m pretty sure I left my spare set of keys in my apartment at school.

D’oh!

We went to the cashier to see if anyone had turned them in.

No luck

Headed back to the dish aisles, sorting our way through plates and baking dishes (want to know something funny? as we were searching I was still secretly shopping and taking tally of things I wanted to buy. I’m glad my priorities are in line) and still couldn’t find them

Back to the front desk again with a glimmer of home that maybe, just maybe, someone turned them in. Just as I asked one of the cashiers if anyone had returned keys, I heard an angel in the form of a middle aged brunette women with killer steve madden sandals

Keys? You’re looking for keys?

YES, YES, CAR KEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ohhh we found a set. Amy, come over here with the keys

Alle-freakin-luiaaaaaaaa.

This just reaffirmed my faith in humanity. Good deeds, people, good deeds – they really can have such a profound impact on someone’s day (and life!). This women could have easily left my keys there for some less kind-hearted person to potentially find and swipe… and I’m so thankful that she didn’t! I wanted to hug her.. but hugged Gingie instead.

  • What’s the last thing you lost?

Speaking of good deeds.. does anyone remember this show?

I completely forgot about it. I miss the 90′s! Pete and pete, the Amanda Show, Kenan and Kel, All That, Figure it Out. Ah, nostalgia…
