You know those black and white cookies?
These pancakes tasted nothing like them.
Sure looked like ‘em though , huh? (that’s not a good thing).
A word to the wise: the skillet becomes hotter as it sits on the stove tip longer. This means that your second batch of pancakes will cook faster than the first. Moral of the story: don’t try to respond to emails while your pancakes are cooking.
Ah well, nothing a heavy dosage of peanut flour paste couldn’t conceal.

I feel really guilty saying this, but as of late I have been preferring almond butter to it’s peanutty brother. Not enough to provoke a blog name change (almond butter and jenny just doesn’t flow off the tongue), but still, I can’t help but feel like I’m cheating on my boyf.
I also tried tempeh for the first time yesterday and was really surprised by how much I didn’t like it. In fact, I may go as far to say I hated it.
- spinach
- soy tempeh
- carrots
- mushrooms
- “pita chips” (cut up pita sprinkled with sea salt and toasted)
- hummus
- nooch
I wanted to like it.. I really did. Perhaps I bought the wrong brand? or prepared it the wrong way? Any tips for a tempeh newbie would be greatly appreciated!
