I eat too much

I have tried every diet out there, Weight Watchers, South Beach, Jenny Craig and Spark People. And it's always the same thing...I diet, I lose, I diet, I lose and even now I am munching on some Riceworks Brown Rice crisps.  So I decided, VERY PUBLICLY, to post my food journal, one more to log my journey.  And I also decided to try natural food, because it's like, maybe there is something to all those preservatives that are making me gain weight?  (well, it's a thought).
So, a little about me:  I am fortyish (the ish can swing either way) and weigh, OK,  enough to lose 10 or 20 lbs.   I know it's not the biggest thing to want to lose 10 pounds, but you know what?  I used to weight 120.  So it seems with every year, I gain 1 or 2, which means more and more and yes, guessed it MORE.  I ain't getting any younger, so it's MY time now baby!

The Only Natural Food Diet, Day 5: Oh well, it's Friday

Saturday, March 20, 2010 11:02:59 AM

I started off doing really well.  REALLY well.  Motivated by the fact that I stepped on the scale and was down two pounds.  Or at least a pound and a half.  The usual breakfast and then, with lunch, my brand new salad bar (featured yesterday) that had this sign and made me feel REAL proud that I was staying natural.  I just want to show you how delicious this place is.  And I avoid those cupcakes again.  Whew.  Work was OK, kinda and then I had my usual 200 calories of snacks--ONLY NATURAL! i.e no preservatives or anything icky.  (Except for the sugar).  But then.  I worked 'til 8 and I was tired. And I met my girlfriend and we went to Prime Steak house where I had my much needed glass of vino.  (But dinner was OK--chicken and veggies, except maybe for that awesome roll--more like a bagel with butter) and then the guy next to us who was alone (but not single--and he was a dentist too!) had THESE fries:  Yes, that IS cheese on them.  And well, after the second glass of wine, it was too much to bear.  I had one, then another, then another and oh, well I LOST count!  GRRR.  So, I estimated the amount of calories I ingested from those gosh forsaken fries and here it is:  A whopping 400 calories over my 1400 goal.  I dare not step on a scale for 3 more days. Signing off.  (Do you BLAME ME?)
